Terms of service.

Arrival/Patient Transport

All dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled at all times while on clinic property. Cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash. Transporting your pet without a leash is strongly discouraged.  If you or your pet are coughing, sneezing, vomiting, or showing any other signs of a possible infectious disease, please remain in your vehicle with your pet. Once you arrive, please call us at 613 386 7500 and we will provide you with further instructions.

Vaccine and appointment reminders

We use a computerized, automated system for vaccine, medication, and appointment reminders. While the software is regularly tested and verified for accuracy and reliability, we cannot guarantee it’s performance. Clients are ultimately responsible for the well-being of their pet, including monitoring immunization and medication expiries, as well as booking and appearing for scheduled appointments.

Cancelations

We ask that our clients provide us with at least 48 hours notice when canceling an appointment.

After two “no-shows” for your scheduled appointment, we will require a deposit of $100 prior to booking your next appointment.

Late arrivals

We understand there may be extenuating circumstances, and we will do our best to accommodate, however arriving more than 10mins late for your appointment may result in cancelation and will be documented as a ‘no-show’.

Emergency visits

Emergencies will take precedence over Scheduled Appointments.  If we are unable to accommodate patient emergencies, they may be referred to another animal hospital.

Payment

Payment is due in full at the time services are rendered. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer payment plans or financing options to our clients. Acceptable payment methods include cash, debit and Mastercard or Visa.  No personal cheques will be accepted. In some instances, a deposit may be required for significant emergency surgical procedures or hospitalized patients.

Prescription Writing Fee Policy

If a prescription is requested to be filled at a pharmacy, a prescription writing fee will be charged for the time taken to review your pet’s chart and to prepare the prescription.

Euthanasia Policy

Euthanasia is performed at the discretion of the veterinarian, and services may be denied if:

·         The pet is healthy but is unwanted, or owner finds it easier not to provide care

·         An animal is minimally ill or injured, and no reasonable attempt at diagnosis or treatment has been made.

Termination of Veterinary Client Patient Relationship

The veterinary Client Patient relationship may be terminated if:

·         Client is consistently non-adherent to proper treatment plans, resulting in potential threats to the welfare of the animal.

·         There is a fundamental difference in philosophy as to the approach taken for diagnosing and treating animals.

·         Client or client representative displays verbal abuse and/or threatening behaviour towards the practitioner and/or hospital staff.

·         Client makes unreasonable demands for unnecessary medications and services or for illegal or unethical actions.

·         Non-payment of fees owed for services rendered.

This relationship will also naturally discontinue without notification under the following circumstances.

·         The death of a patient.

·         After a given period of time such that we no longer have recent and sufficient knowledge of your pet, typically two years or more without seeing your pet.

·         When a client moves out of the area and/or another veterinarian requests the medical records. This does not apply to referrals or second opinions.

·         If we discuss with you that we can establish a VCPR with the scope of services for a specific problem and its resolution, ie an ear infection for a pet that cannot access care from their regular veterinarian

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
